Left Coast Crime is an annual mystery convention sponsored by mystery fans, both readers and authors, first held in San Francisco in 1991. It is concerned with mysteries in the western North American region, but the conference itself travels worldwide, having been held in Canada, the United Kingdom, and various parts of the United States. The 35th annual Left Coast Crime convention provides an intimate, fan-driven experience that brings together authors, readers, and industry professionals in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Unlike larger commercial conventions, LCC maintains its grassroots spirit with programming created by and for mystery lovers. The conference features author panels, book signings, networking opportunities, and the presentation of the prestigious Lefty Awards, which honor the best in mystery fiction as voted by attendees. In December 2019 Mystery Writers of America awarded the convention organization the 2020 Raven Award for “outstanding achievement.” The Denver location promises spectacular Rocky Mountain views alongside four days of celebrating the mystery genre, from cozy mysteries to hard-boiled noir, with a particular emphasis on supporting emerging voices and fostering community among mystery enthusiasts.
